About
Ruby
As Designer at Maude, a modern intimacy company, I lead and contribute to product conception, design development, packaging and production, social media marketing, and a wide range of brand and visual design initiatives.
Alongside this, I have worked with Champions Design, a creative branding and strategy agency, where I contributed to technically rigorous design systems and brand assets, balancing concept with execution across complex, multi-touchpoint projects. Through this role and in more recent client work, I collaborated with organisations including Flatiron Nomad, Extreme Weather Survivors, Leslie-Lohman Museum of Art, and Maremoto on projects rooted in culture, community, and art.
Earlier in my career, I worked across editorial and startup environments, including design roles with Headmaster Magazine and Tokyo Journal, as well as freelance projects for early-stage startups such as Meli (a quinoa beer startup) and Campus (a social media startup). These experiences strengthened my ability to adapt visual systems across different scales, audiences, and stages of growth.
In parallel to my commercial work, I maintain a personal practice focused on documentation and cultural archiving. Most notably, I created Dragged, an ongoing project taking form as a book and connected website documenting New York City’s drag scene, developed through interviews, photography, and digital storytelling to preserve its aesthetic, emotional, and social complexity.
While my background includes work exploring queer culture and community-building, my current focus is on creating inclusive, durable design frameworks that translate across platforms, audiences, and scale. I hold a degree from Brown University in English and Gender and Sexuality Studies, which informs my attention to language, narrative, and cultural context in design.
Based between New York City, London, and Melbourne, I bring a transnational perspective to my work and have collaborated with clients including Warner Bros., Brooklinen, Museum of Sex, Leslie-Lohman Museum of Art, Flatiron Nomad, Maremoto, and Extreme Weather Survivors.
I also have extensive experience designing for a wide range of global retail partners and distributors, including Amazon, Erewhon, Sephora, Bloomingdale’s, and Selfridges, navigating varied regulatory, production, and merchandising requirements across markets.
